Patna: Getting HbA1c (glycated haemoglobin) test done from time to time, monitoring blood pressure and cholesterol level is vital for people diagnosed with diabetes, said diabetologist Dr Ajay Kumar, while delivering the Dr PK Sinha Oration at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences on Friday.
Dr Ajay spoke on early diagnosis, treatment and complications linked with diabetics. IAS officer Tripurari Sharan was the chief guest, while IGIMS director Dr N.R. Biswas, outgoing medical superintendent Dr Prabhat K. Sinha and other doctors of the hospital took part in the event. A farewell was also held for Dr Prabhat, who worked with former Union health minister and kala-azar expert Dr C.P. Thakur for trials of kala-azar related medicines on patients in Bihar.
