VOICES AGAINST ABUSE: Sri Arvind Mahila College principal Poonam Chaudhari hands over a memento to Ratna Purkayastha, a senior programme executive with IBPS, Doordarshan, at "My story to change" - an event to focus on gender equality, to make women and girls aware of their right to speak up - on Tuesday. The college unit of National Service Scheme and Bhoomika Vihar organised the event, where the DD officer was the chief guest. Purkayastha shared some of her own experiences of childhood trauma and how she spoke up when she felt something wrong was happening to her. "God has made all of us beautiful. We should not feel any guilt at being a girl. I want every girl to raise her voice against injustice." Text by Aarushi Agarwal, picture by Manoj Kumar
