Patna: Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Thursday met people and party workers of Raghopur, the Assembly constituency he represents, at his official bungalow at 5 Deshratna Marg for nearly four hours.

He said he can never repay the debt of love and affection the people of Raghopur have given him, and urged party workers and the people to spread the message of his father, Lalu Prasad.

"I have great respect for the people of Raghopur and I have always tried to develop the constituency the way I tried to develop Patna in a very short span of time," Tejashwi said. "The post of leader of Opposition is a big one; I have to listen to the people of the entire state. In such a situation, it is also the duty of the people of Raghopur to boost my morale by helping me."

He also announced that he will start his tour across the state after February 9, and said he aimed to cover at least 20 districts before the budget session of the state legislature begins on February 26.

"Most probably I will start my yatra from Seemanchal region of Araria district and will cover at least two districts in a day. We have not yet decided what to name the yatra but it would be something like Nyay Yatra or Pol Khol Yatra. Once our state unit president Ram Chandra Purbey returns from Ranchi, we will take the final decision on the name," Tejashwi told reporters.

He took potshots at the "double engine" government of Bihar - a claim by the ruling combine.

"It is not double engine but a trouble engine. No work is going on in Bihar and implementation of the seven resolves is in pathetic shape. The people of Bihar are in pain and through my yatra I will expose how Nitish ji has cheated the people's mandate," he said, claiming that even NDA partners are miffed with Nitish.

Asked about taking former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi and RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha in the RJD fold, Tejashwi said they are most welcome if they wish to join.

He also said that he was in regular touch with Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
