People suffering from migraine and diabetes could just visit a CD store instead of a doctor for a permanent solution, if acupressure expert Sarvadeo Prasad Gupta is to be believed.
Gupta, who has spent 38 years in the profession, has made a CD that deals with various acupressure techniques to fight different diseases. Of this first-of-its-kind initiative, the acupressure expert said: “Not a single CD on acupressure is available in the market. My CD is the first such initiative in the whole country. I hope people will realise that there is no point in consuming medicines for every other disease. Some of them can be cured with acupressure. My CD — Aapka Arogya Acupressure — will throw some light on this.”
Acupressure treats symptoms by applying pressure at specific points on the body with fingers.
Five volumes of Gupta’s CD, priced at Rs 40 each, will be available in the stores of the state capital from Saturday. The CDs deal with various acupressure techniques to fight migraine, diabetes, waist pain, sciatica, arthritis and asthma. The volumes also shed light on how acupressure can help fight ankle, shoulder and neck pain and paralysis.
“Most people in Bihar go for allopathic treatment. They do not know that allopathic medicines also have side effects. Moreover, with allopathic treatment, it is possible for a disease to recur. There are no side effects of acupressure and it increases immunity. People should opt for acupressure without a second thought. I have prepared these CDs to spread awareness on the technique,” said Gupta.
He added: “My aim is to reach the lower strata of the society. That is the reason I have priced the CDs at Rs 40 each.”
On his future plans, Gupta said: “I will start a massive campaign from September. I will organise camps to popularise acupressure across the state.”
Some acupressure experts praised Gupta’s initiative. “Daily I get 10-15 patients. Acupressure can be effective in treating many diseases but because of lack of awareness, very few people know about its benefits. I am happy that Gupta has taken the initiative to spread awareness about acupressure,” said Raman Kumar Jha, an acupressure expert.
