Who will rule Bihar for the next five years is decided. The festivities are over. It’s time for business once more — of governing the state, looking after its people, taking care of its cities, towns and villages.
The Telegraph spoke to the four legislators who will represent the urban Patna constituencies — Patna Sahib, Kumhrar, Bankipore and Digha — in the next Assembly. The BJP, in spite of its defeat across the state, managed to retain its hold on these four seats, albeit with reduced margins. Therefore, the challenge before the quartet is huge, as they have to sit in the Opposition benches and yet fulfil the aspirations of the people in the civic amenities-starved localities. Three of them — Nand Kishore Yadav, Arun Kumar and Nitin Navin — have been re-elected while Sanjeev Chaurasia from Digha is a debutant. Roshan Kumar asks the legislators to list their priorities for the next five years.
