Soundcheck: Aditi Sharma is set to rock the city today |
Singer Aditi Singh Sharma has sent the city’s music aficionados into a frenzy, all with a tweet.
MTV Unplugged is about to start its fourth season on Saturday. One of the artistes this time would be Aditi — who lent her voice to Dhoom Machale Dhoom (Dhoom 3) last year. But some of her Patna fans would be able to catch her earlier.
As part of the season, she will perform at the New Patna Club on Friday. Residents can catch the live show from 7.30pm if they have invitations.
Aditi — whose repertoire includes Choomantar from Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and Dhat Teri Ki from Gori Tere Pyaar Mein — let her fans know the good news a couple of days earlier.
A tweet from her handle (@ADTSinghSharma), #PATNA — cant wait to see you this friday!! @MTVIndia, at 1.30pm on Wednesday made fans pinch themselves.
Within minutes, one young fan expressed her joyous disbelief too.
Anand Keshav, a chartered accountant addicted to music, told The Telegraph: “I have been following all the MTV Unplugged seasons and I am really glad that Patna will finally witness unplugged singing (artistes playing acoustic instruments) live. I am a diehard fan of Aditi since Dhoom Machale was released. I follow her on Twitter and that’s where I first received the news of her performance.”
Christmas and New Year some five to six weeks away, this is a sure treat for the music aficionados.
“I am really glad I got an invitation to the live performance. Music makes you feel peaceful and puts your soul and mind at rest. This live concert will be a much-needed break in our monotonous lives,” said entrepreneur Amrita Bhushan.
The fourth season of MTV Unplugged will start airing on television from Saturday.
The show would be telecast every Saturday at 8pm.
This is the first time the show has Patna as one of its ground venues.
Fans are waiting with open arms to welcome the Dhoom Machale girl on Friday.
“I am really excited about this concert. I have never heard her live and this would be a real treat,” said Kumar Aditya, a marketing manager with a telecommunication company.
Apart from Aditi, other singers to be a part of the musical tour are Amit Trivedi, Salim Sulaiman, Mithoon, Ankit Tiwari, Sachin-Jigar, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shalmali Kholgade and Mikey McCleary.
Thirty cities, including Gurgaon, Calcutta, Thane, Ranchi, Guwahati and Lucknow, would host on-ground performances.
The highlight of this season would be music composer Pritam.
