Patna, Feb. 9: Sections of minority intellectuals feel instead of relying completely on the government, the members should take steps to ensure their rights and work towards a better future for the community.
Views like these came forward at a workshop on economical empowerment of the deprived through timely information and utilisations organised by a Delhi-based non-governmental organisation Zakat Foundation of India at Bihar Industries Association today.
Secretary of the organisation Mumtaz Najmi said: “We always question the government’s role in the development of minority communities but we never introspect on the role we should adopt to benefit the community. We should always try to impart the best education to our children. Rather than pushing them to professions like engineering and medicine, we should encourage them to go for administrative jobs so that they can be a part of the government and take steps to benefit the community.”
