Patna: RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Thursday accused chief minister Nitish Kumar of hatching a conspiracy to harm him.
Tejashwi was speaking at the last public meeting in the second phase of his Samvidhan Bachao Nyay Yatra at Bochaha in Muzaffarpur district, 80km north of Patna.
"I've come to know from reliable sources that Nitish ji is hatching a conspiracy to harm me. Nitishji might poison the food served to me at the circuit house I'm staying in during my Yatra," Tejashwi said.
Tejashwi was addressing the crowd at the ground of Sharfuddinpur High School in the presence of senior party leaders. Addressing a public meet at Madhubani three days ago, Tejashwi had accused Nitish of tapping his phone.
"He is already tapping my phone and now spying on me. I don't understand why Nitish ji is behind a 28 year old youth leader," Tejashwi said. "The world knows Nitishji is undemocratic and an opportunist. What have I done? Instead, he has backstabbed Laluji by joining hands with the BJP."
The third phase of his yatra will be launched after by poll results are declared on March 14.
Tejashwi alleged that Nitish was jealous of the immense support he is getting in his yatra .
He said though Nitish is in Japan he is keeping a close eye on his public meetings. "Nitishji is talking to his people in Bihar on the hotline every day to take feedback of my Samvidhan Bachao Nyay Yatra. Nitish chacha (uncle) is very tense because of my yatra and taking minute-wise details." Tejashwi said.
He urged people to trust him to fulfil promises he has made when the RJD comes to power. "I am not like Nitish ji who forgets his promises. I will do politics for the next 50 years whereas Nitishji will be there for the next five years only. You should extend your support to me," Tejashwi said.
