Tech training for employees

National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) will provide computer training to secretariat assistants, supervisory cadre and Group-C employees of the state government.

Officials of the NIELIT, which was earlier known as DOEACC Society, and the department of information and technology revealed the development during an inaugural function of the programme in the state capital on Tuesday.

As part of the programme, the state government employees will have to undergo a 60-hour training module content called Course on Computer Application and Concept.

H.P. Shukla, the director of NIELIT Patna centre, said: “Under the training programme, the state government employees will be imparted training on computer applications. The focus will be to rectify minor problems that they face while working on computers like removing virus, technical problems and others.”

The employees will be provided with study materials in English and Hindi and the training programme will be free.

Speaking on the occasion, Shahid Ali Khan, the minister for information technology (IT) and minority welfare, said: “The state government is committed to promoting IT in the state and within the government itself. We have set a target of 2016 to develop paperless offices with the focus on recording all data and information on computers.”
