Muzaffarpur, Sept. 18: Langat Singh College is all set to introduce diploma courses to empower the underprivileged and improve their chances of getting jobs.
The institution affiliated to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University would start retail management and automobile-cum-vehicle testing courses from October under the community college programme. The state education department, in collaboration with University Grants Commission, has selected 15 institutes, including Langat Singh College, to start the programme.
The colleges would conduct diploma courses in retail, automobile, vehicle testing, healthcare, food processing, theatre, stage craft, mobile communication, green house technology, farm and machinery and fashion technology.
The principal of Langat Singh College, A.N. Yadav, said: “Two diploma courses, including one in retail management and another in automobile-cum-vehicle testing, will be started from October.” He added that he has sought help from Suresh Kumar Sharma, a BJP MLA and owner of Rajiv Automobile Agency, for training and placements for students.
