Final-year students of the three-year degree course at Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur, want to extract a fine from the varsity for inordinate delay in publication of results.

The university should have declared the results in July. Over 47,000 students from 39 constituent and 17 affiliated colleges sat for the final exam in June but the results are still awaited.

Students now want action against the university for habitual delays, student leader Keshri Nandan said. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), National Students’ Unity of India, student wings of the RJD and the JD(U) and the All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO), have joined hands to drag the university to court.

ABVP’s Rama Shankar said: “Since students are usually fined for late submission of exam forms, we will drag the university to court and ask it to pay a fine to students for late publication of results.”
