Took up the country’s most loved sport six years ago. He used to accompany his neighbour Lakhan Raja to SK Puri Cricket Club to see him practise and fell in love with the game. Started training under Ajit Singh and Rahul Kumar (former coaches of the club).

Of Nikhil comprise an inter-state series between Bihar and Jharkhand in 2008 and a district-level tournament held at Moinul Haque Stadium in 2009.

Nikhil received the best actor award in an inter-class competition organised by the school in 2010. He also croons well. He clinched third position in a Class X inter-class contest in 2011. In Class VI, Nikhil was adjudged the creative thinker.

That Nikhil is known for are football and hockey. He is the goalkeeper in the school football team and was the defender in the hockey team of the school for four years.
