Patna, March 17: Crowds danced to the beats of bands as a team of civil and police administrative officials slugged it out on a flood-lit cricket pitch on Wednesday evening.

The willow met the ball at the T20 Champaran cricket championship in the run-up to Bihar Divas celebrations at Bettiah police line grounds in West Champaran.

The game brought all sections of the society together in a week-long sporting festival, which included a cycle-marathon.

Athletics and volleyball tourneys added flavour to the state’s 99th anniversary celebrations.
