Diwali barely a week away, the city has started soaking in the festive mood. A few clubs and schools have even started celebrations.
Bihar Council of Women members celebrated the festival on Tuesday. A laddoo-making competition was organised at the event.
Many other associations are also planning to organise such events to celebrate the occasion. Inner Wheel Club of Patliputra would organise a bumper housie on Saturday. The president of the club, Suman Maheshwari, said: “We have decided to honour the members associated with the club for more than 25 years. This small gesture can make them feel special and will also show our love and respect towards them. A rangoli competition and cracker show will be organised on the occasion.”
The club would also donate clothes, stationery and crackers, sweets to the underprivileged children of Shikshayatan to bring a smile on their faces on this occasion.
Rotary Club of Patliputra will celebrate the festival on Sunday. Various activities will be organised during the celebration apart from a housie. Entrepreneur Prerna Jalan has prepared gift hampers containing crackers or candles with chocolates. Prerna said: “Whoopee Chocolates can be gifted to your near and dear ones this Diwali. These chocolates are available with Diwali items like candles, crackers and decorative trays.”
St Karen’s Secondary School would organise a rangoli competition for the children. New Era Public School would organise a rangoli competition for the students’ mothers on Dhanteras on October 21.
