Patna: Mumbai-based music composer Ram Sampath, who has worked in Bollywood films such as Delhi Belly and Raees, has composed and sung a Hindi song written by Bihar-born author Anurag Anand.
Anurag has written the song, Bhaga, for his latest book, To Hell and Back, a thriller about a road rage incident that leaves a promising young entrepreneur dead and the nation shocked. The song, which is available on YouTube, will soon be available across music apps such as Saavn, iTunes, etc.
This is probably one of the first instances when a theme song has been released as a part of a book's promotion.
Anurag's family is from Pokharpur village in Saran district, and he spent his early years there. Anurag did his schooling in Bengal's Kurseong and in Delhi, and his postgraduate diploma in management from Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, Delhi.
Sampath said: "The lyrics of Bhaga were so thought-provoking that I couldn't get them off my mind for several days."
To Hell and Back is Anurag's 11th book. Two of his previous works have been commissioned by major production houses for being adapted into films. However, the names have not yet disclosed.
"I have been told that the plot of To Hell and Back could very well serve as an unrelated sequel to the film NH-10 and I am hoping to give the rights to a filmmaker who can do justice to the story," Anurag said.
