Eight criminals involved in chain-snatching, loot, murder and dacoity were arrested on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, the police nabbed these men from near a temple under jurisdiction of Beur police station.
Patna senior superinte dent of police (SSP) Manu Maharaj said three among the eight, identified as Alok Kumar, Mohammed Firoz and Dipu Sah, have three to eight serious cases lodged against them under different police stations of the state capital.
According to the police, the gang lately was into chain-snatching. Their modus operandi was simple, They used to spill hot water or tea on the women victims to first startle them and then snatch their gold chains and other ornaments, added the police.
Five country-made pistols, 10 live cartridges, two crude bombs, eight cellphones, two laptops, two gold chains and a wristwatch have been recovered from them.
