All 74 regular government doctors, 530 auxiliary nurse midwifes (ANMs), A-grade nurses and other para-medic staff posted at Munger sadar hospital and rural government primary health centres will have to mark their attendance via selfies from Friday.

State principal secretary (health) Sanjoy Kumar has okayed Munger district magistrate (DM) Anand Sharma’s order in this regard. Among doctors, physicians, surgeons, eye specialists, orthopaedics, skin specialists and dental surgeons will all have to abide by the directive.

“As the principal secretary (health) Sanjoy Kumar has okayed my selfie-attendance order, I’ve directed Munger civil surgeon Dr Yogendra Prasad Bhagat to ensure regular attendance by all regular government doctors and para-medical staff, including ANMs via selfie from places of their postings everyday,” DM Anand Sharma said. “Munger civil surgeon Dr Yogendra Prasad Bhagat will soon issue an official order asking all regular government doctors and para-medical staff, including ANMs and A grade nurses, to mark their attendance via selfie from their place of posting,” Munger additional chief medical officer Yogendra Prasad Rajak said on Thursday.

“As the civil surgeon had to accompany Munger divisional commissioner Pankaj Paul to the Asarganj-based government primary health centre today (Thursday), the civil surgeon could not circulate an order in this regard today,” Munger ACMO Dr. Rajak said.

“All health managers, accountants and contract staff posted at the district, sub-divisional and block level and working under the National Health Mission (NHM), have been marking their attendance via selfie since September 1,” DPM (Munger) Mohammad Naseem said.

“They are altogether 55 in number. Only regular government doctors, para-medical staff and ANMs had refused to obey the collector’s order under the banner of Bihar State Health Services Association’s Munger unit.”
