Three motorcycle-borne criminals fired at a Right to Information (RTI) activist, Razi Hassan, on Thursday night.
The incident occurred in the Purani Bazaar area under Town police station at 9.45pm, police said on Friday. Hassan, 40, suffered two bullet injuries in his right leg. He was rushed to a private nursing home and his condition is critical.
Senior superintendent of police Rajesh Kumar said: “Two suspects — Mohammad Razique and Aftab Alam — have been arrested. Hassan was involved in a legal battle with people having criminal antecedents and had been threatened several times.”
