Patna, April 28: The city police have taken an innovative route to reach out to the people and take note of their complaints.
The Patna City police have decided to move around the city to take note of the grievances of the people on the same day when Patna district magistrate declared he would “go down” to meet the physically challenged people coming to his darbar.
Patna City superintendent of police (SP) Shivdeep Lande would go to different areas and sub-divisions, to take note of the complaints and the petitions of the people.
Termed as “City SP aapke dwaar (City SP at your doorsteps),” the initiative will kick off from May and will happen on each Sunday.
Lande said the complaints would be dealt in three categories —A, A+ and A++.
“Starting next month, I will be going to all the areas and meet people and would address their grievances. With the police going to meet the people, the confidence level among the masses will increase and they can help the police too,” the officer said.
Lande would go to Patna City area and sit at Alamganj police station on the first Sunday next month.
“People from various areas across Patna City can come to the police station. Their problems will be addressed. ‘A’ category problem means there is no need to take care of it immediately and the police can hold take some time while investigating. The ‘A+’ category problem means the problem is a little serious and the station house officer needs to be informed about it so that he can start taking some action. The ‘A++’ problems mean that the problem is of a big magnitude and I will immediately move with the petitioner and look into the problem myself and solve it,” the officer told The Telegraph.
On the second Sunday of May, Lande would be sitting at Kadamkuan police station.
“In the first half, I will be there in the Kadamkuan police station while in the second half of the day I will visit the Kankarbagh police station to look into the problem of the Patna Sadar area. But this does not mean that people living outside the area cannot come. It is open to all,” he said.
On the third Sunday, the SP would visit Patliputra and Gardanibagh police stations while on the fourth Sunday he would be at Danapur and Phulwari Sharif police stations.
No deputy superintendent of police or SHO would be present when the SP meets the people of the areas.
