Driving down a snarl-free road may not remain a distant dream for residents of the district headquarters.
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is preparing a detailed project report for construction of a ring road in Muzaffarpur. Once completed, the road is expected to ease traffic congestion on the thoroughfares of the town.
District vigilance and implementation committee for development chairperson Raghuvansh Prasad Singh told The Telegraph: “The decision to construct a ring road in Muzaffarpur was taken in view of the frequent traffic snarls in the city. The number of vehicles has increased considerably in the recent past. As a result, congestion on the roads has also increased.”
Sources said the ring road, which will encircle the town, would take pressure off the thoroughfares in Muzaffarpur.
