Motihari, March 21: The district administration has beefed up security arrangements in view of the bandh call given by CPI (Maoist) in north Bihar on March 22.

The rebels have called the bandh in protest against the killing of their six guerrillas in an encounter at Darmaha village in East Champaran on March 13.

Superintendent of police, East Champaran, West Champaran and Bagaha have sounded high alert in their respective districts and asked the deputy superintendent of police, inspectors and station house officers to keep special vigil in the areas believed to be Naxalite strongholds.
