Patna, Aug. 6: Maoists continued their attack on tribals by torching the house of Sudama Oroan at Madha village in Rohtas district late last night.
The Maoists charged Oraon, presently lodged in Sasaram district jail, with being involved in the murder of former divisional forest officer of Sasaram Sanjay Singh in 2002, by leaking information to the police about their activities. Over 50-odd Maoists swooped on Madha village, around 40km south of Sasaram town, the district headquarters of Rohtas, around midnight and torched his house. However, no casualty was reported in the incident.
The Maoists suspected Oraon to be involved in leaking information to the police about the activities of senior Maoist leaders of the outfit even from behind the bars. The attackers threatened the villagers with dire consequences if they dared to extend support to the splinter group led by Sugreev Kharwar.
