Patna, Dec. 6: Reserve Bank of India would develop a website for people to know about the functioning of non-banking financial companies.

The website would list genuine and fraudulent non-banking financial companies. Open to the common man, it would inform people about the different kinds of economic frauds and ways to lodge complaints.

Stakeholders decided on developing the website dedicated to non-banking financial companies last evening during the state-level coordination committee meeting in Patna.

At the meeting, the government also said it has taken up the matter of setting up designated courts to try cases of economic fraud and irregularities committed by non-banking financial companies with the Patna High Court.

The meeting was led by chief secretary Anjani Kumar Singh, the committee's ex officio chairman. It was attended by senior officers of different regulatory authorities and government department apart from the economic offences unit and Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Patna.

A source in the RBI told The Telegraph: 'It was decided that the economic offences unit would take the service of experienced and specialists like chartered accountants to investigate fraud cases filed with it. The unit does not have any experience in investigating cases of economic fraud.'
