A rape victim from Rohtas district has been running from pillar to post to lodge a complaint against the alleged offender.

The victim, a widow and employee of the forest department, was allegedly raped twice at her official residence in Rohtas district on October 29 last year. She has been running from the local court to the offices of police officers to get her complaint lodged.

Finally, she approached inspector-general (weaker section) Preeta Verma at the state police headquarters in Patna on June 3, who, in turn, ordered the Women's police station at Dehri-on-Sone in Rohtas to probe the allegations against Ahmed Apsar Ansari.

Ansari, then holding the post of forest ranger of Rohtas in south-central Bihar, is now posted at Bettiah in West Champaran. His clout in political circles and the department he is serving with, has left the 36-year-old victim shattered.

"I am now fed up with running from one office to the other. I apprehend threat to my life. However, there is no help from any quarter," said the victim, who hails from Jharkhand's Jamerdag village.

The acting station house officer (SHO) of Dehri Women's police station, Abbas Ansari, admitted on Sunday that the CID's weaker section has ordered a probe into the charges against the then Rohtas forest ranger. "A woman sub-inspector, Arti, has been assigned the task," he added.

The acting SHO said no action had been taken against the accused till date. "Both the parties (accused and the complainant) have been summoned to the police station to ascertain the truth," the SHO Abbas told The Telegraph.

#The woman, in her complaint, alleged that the ranger barged into her official residence at Akbarpur on October 29, 2014, midnight on the pretext of official work and outraged her modesty. The accused raped her at gunpoint for the second time and also threatened to kill her, the complaint alleged.
