Rajgir stadium on track

Construction of the international stadium-cum-sports academy in Rajgir will start in the next two months.

Patna: Construction of the international stadium-cum-sports academy in Rajgir will start in the next two months.

Chanchal Kumar, principal secretary, building construction, said tender process has begun for the project, which was approved by the cabinet in January this year.

"Work on the international stadium-cum-sports academy will begin in the next two months and we have already acquired 90 acres land for the project. The complex will have facility for 25 different sports. Once the work would starts, it will be completed in two years," said Chanchal.

The department has acquired the land at Pilkhi panchayat, around 4km from the Rajgir town and 107km from Patna. The stadium will also have a separate cricket stadium built for Rs 258 crore.

Arcop Associate Private Limited, a New Delhi-based consultant company, has been selected to make the master plan of the sports academy and the stadium.

Minister Maheshwar Hazari said work on Bihar Sadan in New Delhi's Dwarka will begin next month, and the duplex bungalows for MLAs and MLCs be ready next year.

The Delhi project will be constructed for Rs 78 crore on three acres of land. Hazari said the project will be done by 2019.

On the legislator bungalows, the minister said 75 duplex for MLCs will be ready by June 2018. The duplex bungalow for 243 MLAs will be ready by December 2018.
