Aug. 3: Maoists raided Dabachowk village under Barhet block of Jamui district in the small hours today and demolished a part of the house of a woman mukhiya (village head).
Reports from Jamui said around 24 armed Maoists today cordoned off the village, located around 16km from Jamui headquarters around 1.45am. “The rebels started firing indiscriminately and shot more than 300 rounds and were searching for one Bhateshwar Yadav. He is the son of Sabitri Devi, the mukhiya of the village,” sources said.
Meanwhile, farmers in Gaya, who are in trouble because of the drought-like situation, are under threat from the Maoists, who are planning to impose a ban on farming. A source said there is plan to impose the ban on plots of 75 persons in the Magadh division.
