Rabri Devi came out swinging her bat against Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well senior state BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi in the Legislative Council on Thursday.
The former chief minister has been on the front foot this legislative session.
If she square cut the Prime Minister's demonetisation delivery, she also stepped out of her crease to hit out at Sushil Kumar Modi, demanding his apology for what she called derogatory remarks against her husband Lalu Prasad and Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Rabri raised slogans like "Narendra Modi hai hai" and "Modi wants riots in the country", and prompted the RJD legislators to move to the Well and demonstrate.
"We will not allow the Council to function until Sushil Modi and BJP apologise in the House for hurling abuses on Sonia and Lalu," she said as her party MLCs waved placards in the Well. "They (Lalu and Sonia) are not members of this House, yet they (BJP leaders) took their names. They will have to apologise."
Chief minister Nitish Kumar was also present in the Council.
Though JDU legislators did not go to the Well or raise slogans, they stood up in solidarity while the din continued.
"It is unprecedented in this House's history that the ruling parties are disrupting its functioning," said BJP MLC Mangal Pandey.
BJP legislator and chief whip in the Council Rajnish Kumar moved an adjournment motion, demanding discussion on the law and order situation in the state, but Council chairman Awadhesh Narayan Singh rejected it.
The chairman's pleas for decorum went unheeded.
The chairman then quickly disposed of the practice of tabling revenue receipts and expenditure of government departments with regard to the budgetary estimates for the second quarter of 2016-17.
