Patna, June 24: Patna University administration has decided to extend the form filling and submission dates at three colleges by four days. This comes after a decision was taken to double the number of seats in the colleges under the university.

P.K. Poddar, the dean students welfare at Patna University, said: “The university administration has decided to extend the date of the fill up and submission of forms in BN College, Patna Science College and Vanijya Mahavidyalay till June 28.”

Poddar further said the decision to extend the fill up and submission of admission forms in these colleges was taken as there were demands of students to extend the date as many of them failed to submit their admission forms. Recently, the state human resources development (HRD) department has also doubled the number of seats at the colleges under the university. Even the students’ bodies had demanded the extension of the dates of filling up and submission of the admission forms.

M.N. Sinha, the admission in-charge at BN College said: “With the dates being extended, more students will be able to apply for the colleges, bringing down the cut-off list from previous years.”

BCom second list

Patna Women’s College has released the second list for the BCom course. The first list had come down to 87.2 per cent, while the cut-off in the second list has come down to 81.25 per cent.

“I am a bit relieved now. Despite scoring 84 per cent marks, I could not make it to the first list. I am very happy as I have made it to such a reputed college,” said Shikha Swarup, who passed out from Kendriya Vidyalaya.

A teacher of Patna Women’s College said: “The cut-offs in this college are very high. As the seats have been increased from 200 to 300, it gives the students a chance to be a part of this institution.”

Nitu Singh, another student, said: “My first priority is BCom. However, to be on the safe side I have also applied for economics honours as I want to be a part of this college only.” Aayushi, another student, said she is now “eagerly waiting” for the third list.
