The healthcare services in the outpatient department and the emergency ward of Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) were partially disrupted on Monday morning after about 65 senior resident doctors went on a token strike demanding police deployment and appointment of paramedics at the health hub.
The senior doctors went on the protest path after a medic was manhandled recently in the emergency ward after the death of a patient. They resumed duty at 12.30pm. IGIMS director Dr Arun Kumar said senior faculty members were pressed into service till senior residents resumed duty.
