Patna, July 18: The high court today directed Patna Municipal Corporation to come out with a schedule for shifting illegal slaughterhouses from Shahganj area within four days.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Rekha M. Doshit and Justice B.K. Verma issued the directive hearing a PIL filed by Chandrashekhar Kumar seeking direction to the state government to close the illegal abattoir. The next hearing wold be on Monday.

Kumar claimed illegal slaughtering was making Shahganj inhospitable. The PMC counsel said land acquisition for shifting the illegal abattoirs to Ramachak Bairiya was under process.
