Patna, Aug. 28: Union minister for communications and information technology Ravi Shankar Prasad today attacked chief minister Nitish Kumar stating that he was hampering the development of Bihar by politicising the issue of the special package.
He added that apart from the special package, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a lot more to offer to Bihar. "The special package is not the end and there is more to come," Prasad said, during a seminar on opportunities in electronics manufacturing organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
The minister also laid the foundation stone of an electronics and manufacturing cluster in Bihar. He took a jibe at Nitish on his claims that the special package was a re-packaging. "They say some projects are old, some are ongoing, the ground work of some of them has not been done. The centre has approved Rs 1.25 lakh crore for Bihar to develop the state. My department is spending Rs 16,000 crore on laying optical fibre cables in 12,000 villages after which these areas will have Internet connectivity provided the state government provides power. This is an ongoing project and has not been mentioned in the package," he said.
Prasad alleged that the state government didn't provide any help towards many IT projects even after talks and reminders.
