Hazaribagh, May 20: Visitors from Bihar eager to meet former Maharajganj MP Prabhunath Singh have been crowding Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan Central Jail for the past two days. But jail officials allow only five visitors a day.

Prabhunath's son and former MLA Randhir Singh today met his father.

Sources said a large number of SUVs and cars parked outside the jail confirmed the number of people coming from Bihar daily to meet the four-time MP a Hazaribagh court convicted on Thursday in the murder of then Masrakh MLA Ashok Singh. The court will award the punishment to Prabhunath on May 23.

Prabhunath woke up early on Saturday and meditated for an hour in his cell, which he shares with his brother Dinanath Singh and former mukhiya Ritesh Singh, both of whom were convicted by the court. Former Balia zilla parishad head Ramadhir Singh, who was awarded life imprisonment in the Binod Singh murder case, has also been kept with the trio.

Prabhunath underwent medical check-up with doctors advising restrictions considering his age.

When Randhir and Prabhunath's son-in-law Rajkamal Singh met him today, he spoke to him for half-an-hour.

Officials said Prabhunath didn't get special facilities and got everything according to the jail manual.

" Par sahab chai (tea) ke behad shaukin hai," added a jail employee.

Officials said people coming from Bihar included representatives but they said they were allowing only five a day. People outside the jail said they wanted to meet their leader but were not allowed. Many said they would again try to meet him.
