Patna, Sept. 21: Power played truant today for about six to seven hours in the western and central parts of the capital owing to maintenance work of 33KV feeders.
Patna Electric Supply Undertaking (Pesu) has undertaken maintenance work of 33KV feeders of every sub-division to provide uninterrupted power supply during Durga Puja. Pesu had announced through newspapers that there would be maintenance work of 33KV feeders of Pesu 1, 2, 9 and Khagaul 1 and hence there would not be power supply from 11am to 4pm but lights went off around 8am or 9am in different localities.
The areas affected owing to maintenance work were Boring Road, Panchmukhi Mandir, Boring Canal Road, Anandpuri, Shivpuri, SK Puri, AN College, Fraser Road and others.
Moreover, areas such as Ashiana Nagar, Rajiv Nagar, Kesri Nagar, Patliputra, New Patliputra, Indrapuri, and West Patel Nagar, which were not notified by Pesu had to face power cuts ranging from four to six hours.
Pesu has announced that power supply would be hampered for five hours from 11am to 4pm on Thursday.
The areas that would be affected on Thursday are Gardanibagh, Anisabad, Phulwarisharif, Police Colony, Paharpur, Chitkohra Bazaar, Punjabi Colony, Harun Nagar, Ashok Rajpath, Bari Path, Govind Mitra Road, and others.
Binod Prasad, a resident of Ashiana Nagar, said: “If the board has to undertake maintenance work, they must inform residents of at least two days in advance. It creates a lot of problems for us.”
