Patna: The Patna Municipal Corporation's (PMC's) standing committee is going to bring a proposal for hiring a project management consultant and transaction adviser at its upcoming meeting on September 13.
If the proposal is cleared at the standing committee meeting, it will be for the first time that these key functionaries will be hired.
Mayor Sita Sahu had on Monday said that right now the municipal corporation was facing challenges when it came to making detailed project reports for various projects.
While this work is supposed to be taken care of by the project management consultant, the transaction adviser is supposed to evaluate value of the corporation's assets and monitor transaction work, Sahu said.
"The September 13 meeting is also important because we are going to bring in a proposal for issuing work order to the A.G. Dauters Waste Processing Pvt Ltd for PMC's ambitious project of converting solid waste into electricity and fuel by installing a waste-to-energy model plant.
Patna generates 700MT of waste daily. The plant, which A G Dauters Waste Processing Pvt Ltd has proposed to set up in Patna, can convert 700MT of solid waste into 300MW of electricity apart from fuel including diesel and cooking gas. Emission from the proposed processing plant is not going to affect the environment. It will be free of carbon elements. "The estimated expenditure of the project is Rs 2,400 crore, which the company will bear," Sahu said.
She said that among other important proposals that would be put up at Thursday's meeting will be the proposal to make a detailed project report for executing solid waste management under the Centre's Swachh Bharat Mission programme.
"The DPR will have details regarding how many GPS vehicles would be roped in for the solid waste management programme among other details," she said.
Taking the chartered accountant firm's services and providing lifelong pension to PMC workers are among other proposals that would be put up at the meeting.
