Muzaffarpur, June 20: Lalu Prasad made a fervent appeal to senior party functionaries and dedicated workers to sink differences with the JDU and put up a "brave front" by forging a "huge political platform" of the RJD-JDU-Congress in the coming Assembly elections to fight against the BJP and RSS.

Lalu cautioned the party men of "invisible communal elements mixed up by the BJP" to befool and confuse the people at large.

"Popularity graph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going down daily so he coined the yoga concept with the help of Baba Ramdev for some magic spell apparently to divert the attention of the people from real issues. But he should also keep in mind that a man cannot be befooled all the time," said Lalu here while addressing party workers, including former MPs, MLAs and MLCs who thronged here in great numbers from Vaishali, Motihari, Bettiah, Sitamarhi and Sheohar districts of the Tirhut division.

At the rally at Mahesh Bhagat Banwari Lal College ground, Lalu largely stressed on political unity in the rank and file of the party to beat the BJP comfortably in the election.

Coming down heavily, Lalu criticised the BJP for diverting the minds of the people from governance to yoga.

"What happened to Rs 15-20 lakh promised to each of the account of the people? Modi's one year at office ended in a fiasco, and the entire nation watched the drama enacted by the BJP," he said while referring to the black money and "ghar-wapsi" issue.

Lalu held Modi responsible for asking some of the BJP MPs to foment communal tension and hatred by abusing Muslims and intimidate them in the name of yoga. "Yoga is nothing but a ploy to cover up promises Modi had made to the countrymen," said Lalu on the eve of International Day of Yoga.

"Yoga is meant for fatty people and the BJP and the RSS gained fat by amassing huge wealth and power corridor of the country," he added.

Talking to reporters, Lalu said he was here to motivate his party men to get ready for a big challenge to fight the BJP in the Assembly elections.

"I met all my old political friends and acquaintances of the Tirhut division and requested them to remain united for a big show of the Assembly polls," he said, adding that he exuded confidence of coming back to power with ease by trouncing the "fascist forces".
