Sawan Milan

Bihar Pradeshik Agrawal Mahila Sammelan organised a Sawan milan mahotsav, to celebrate the monsoon, at Agrasen Bhavan on Friday. About 25 people participated in competitions organised by the Sammelan on the occasion.

Tikuli art, khadi products and delicacies were sold and dance and drama were staged. Kusum Agarwal, who has been teaching needlework to underprivileged women for 40 years, was awarded the "Samaj Gaurav" for her contributions.

Redress meet

Shahri Gareeb Vikas Sangathan held a news meet on Friday to announce its "Jan Shikayat Abhiyan" campaign to educate people on the government's grievance redress policies and their responsibility to submit written complaints to the authorities.

The campaign will be held on July 30 with redress stalls across 72 wards of the city.

The complaints will be handed over to the authorities on August 3.

Rupesh Priya Ranjan, the convener of the Sangathan, said: "The central and state governments have policies to process complaints of citizens and consumers but they sometimes fail to solve them. The campaign aims to educate people about the policies."
