Farewell to doctor

The medicine department of Patna Medical College and Hospital organised a farewell programme for Dr P.K. Sinha on Tuesday. Close to 150 people, including junior doctors, attended the ceremony with head of department JKL Das.

Speaking on his stint at the health hub, Sinha said: "My experience at the hospital has been very good. When I joined, super-speciality departments such as gynaecology were not present but there have been several developments in the past few years. Several diagnostic facilities have been introduced too."

R.D. Singh, a senior resident promoted as unit in-charge, said at the event he would introduce live surgery classes to improve efficiency of the students.

Mock drill in school

A mock fire and evacuation drill was conducted at St Anne's High School in Patna City on Tuesday to create awareness among the students about fire-fighting techniques and ways to swiftly respond in times of emergency.

The fire fighters at the drill explained different methods used in rescuing people besides demonstrating the operation of fire extinguishers.

The team also gave the students tips they should follow such as not using lifts or touching gas cylinders in case of a fire.
