The BJP workers wondered where deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi was when the news spread several state leaders were skipping the party’s national executive meet in Panaji citing viral flu. The official press note of the BJP said he had departed for Goa when he was actually in Delhi.
'Our own Modiji also might not turn up in Goa because of flu,” joked a BJP worker just before the meet. However, Sushil Kumar Modi landed in Panaji after chairing a meet of the empowered committee of finance ministers. He even invited Narendra Modi to the Hunkar Rally in Patna on October 27. The same worker, after knowing about the development, declared that our own Modiji was physically fit.
Science and technology minister Gautam Singh strongly refuted the allegation that the ministers and MLAs who camped in Maharajganj spoilt the poll prospects of JD(U)’s P.K. Shahi. Others said there were few Dal voters. “There was nobody at a field where Shyam Rajak was to address a meeting,” said a JD(U) supporter. When a senior officer gave a call to one of his colleagues on Sunday, he heard slogans in favour of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi over the phone. Wasting no time, he inquired about its source and was told that the TV was on at his colleague’s home and a channel was beaming the BJP meet in Panaji. “You must be at home. If you dare to hear slogans in favour of Modi at your office, you would be removed immediately,” the senior officer told his colleague, who agreed. “But I am entitled to listen to it at home,” he said, recalling the unofficial ban in the state on anything related to the Gujarat chief minister.
