Christmas is here. Revellers are set to soak in vibrant festivities after bells jingle in churches.

Naturally, Christmas Day would be cold. But the warmth of celebrations would beat the chill for sure. The Telegraph charts the route to revelry:

Cold day

Weathermen issued cold wave alert for the second consecutive day on Wednesday though sunshine is expected for a couple of hours in the afternoon. Day cold conditions would prevail because of low maximum temperature, as observed over the past couple of days.

'Minimum temperature on Christmas Day would be around 7-8°C and the maximum would be around 14-15°C. Westerly winds would be blowing at an average speed of around 6 to 8kmph, which is slightly above normal. Overall conditions would be very cold,' said R.K. Giri of Patna Meteorological Centre.

Wednesday was the coldest day of this season as the maximum temperature of the day was 13.1°C, eleven notches below normal.

Warm night

To beat the cold, hit the party zones.

Hangover's Christmas Party will feature DJ Ashy. The theme is neon. 'Christmas Eve has always been a packed house at our lounge. We will have a Christmas special menu to complete the celebrations,' said Ravi, the owner of Hangover Lounge.

Christmas Carnival by Eventoss at Patna Youth Hostel is a proper fest. DJ Prateek will keep the party people on their toes.

Look book

Prom dress in cut outs to scuba-print and textured high neck collar top. Try to keep it red! Classic red lips or a red coat would also be a good option. Here's a style guide for Christmas from designer Abhishek Dutta:

Girls: A classic LBD (little black dress) is perfect for Christmas party, something which has been in fashion for ages. Since the winter is at its peak, this is the best season when you can experiment with layering. Wear a bolero, an oversized jacket, overcoat of contrast colour. Pair your OFTD (Outfit For The Day) with contrast colour fashion jewellery, danglers and a high-waist- belt.

Boys: Go for lots of colours with a hint of prints inside. In case of leather, try yellow, bottle green and navy blue this Christmas to break the monotony of black and brown. High-raised collar jackets are in-thing these days. Try to contrast your pocket-square, scarves and shoes to break the monotony of the outfit!

Munch menu

Christmas is incomplete without cake. If you are craving for Christmas cake, just head for New Market and the confectionaries at Dakbungalow crossing. Apart from the usual fudge-and-fruit cake from Sweet Home, also pack some cookies, brownies and plum cakes to add extra flavour to the celebration.

The hotels across the city are adding extra flavour to the celebrations. Hotel Gargee Grand is organising a three-day Christmas Food Carnival commencing from December 26. The three-day food fest would have more than 15 cuisines on menu, including mocktail, Monalisa soup, Christmas special salad, fish curry, south Indian mutton curry, Christmas paneer, rum cake, cheese cake and many more.

Music and moves

Singer, composer and songwriter Badshah in Abhi toh party shuru hui hai sets the party rules very clearly. You can start the party with Deepika's lovely moves in Main lovely ho gayi yaar and set the party mood soaring with the groovy pelvic-thrusting and belly-shaking numbers.

Get your desi moves with Kangana Ranaut's iconic bar-top steps in Hungama and feel like a queen! Non-dancers can learn the easy water ripple step of Yo Yo Honey Singh's Sunny Sunny or tilt their fingers to Johnny Johnny and say ' no no no, maine pee nai hai'!

If not partying

There is Aamir Khan as PK to catch up with. Book a date with the Rajkumar Hirani film that merges message with mirth to pack in an entertaining ride, currently playing at all city cinemas.

If being at home is more your kind of thing, then tune in to the latest twists and turns on Big Boss (Colors, 9pm) or plonk yourself on your couch for the STAR Movies movie marathon (5pm to 11.30pm). Play a DVD of a Christmas-y movie and curl up with eggnog or hot chocolate.
