Patna: Madhepura MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav on Sunday asked chief minister Nitish Kumar to justify how he is running the government in alliance with the BJP, a party which according to the legislator is infamous for creating communal tension in the society.

On the pretext of an all-party meeting on the 15th Finance Commission held on Saturday, Pappu said: "I am not raising questions on the honesty of Nitish ji but it is a fact that the BJP has a track record of creating social disturbance and also supports communal tension. I want to ask Nitishji what will he get by siding with a communal party and how long will he see Bihar being destroyed by communal forces such as the BJP," Pappu asked while interacting with reporters at his residence.

The Jan Adhikar Party Loktantrik (JAPL) chief asked why were the BJP and the RJD called at the all-party meet because "one supports communalism and the other defines corruption".

There were talks in the political circle that Pappu may side with Nitish in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections after his recent visit to 1 Aney Marg, where he spent more than an hour with Nitish.

Pappu also said his party will field its candidate for the Jokihat bypoll and the name of the candidate would be announced on Monday.
