Patna: Anand Kishor, the IAS officer who wore many hats, has been left with just one: that of chairman of the Bihar School Examination Board.

Kishor, a 1997 batch officer, was removed as Patna divisional commissioner in a shuffle of senior IAS officers carried out on Tuesday evening. He would also cease to be chairman of Patna Smart City Limited, a post he held by virtue of being the Patna commissioner.

Kishor has been left only with the post of chairman of BSEB, of which he has been holding additional charge ever since his predecessor Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh was arrested in the Intermediate merit list scam two years ago.

Robert L. Chongthu, an IAS batchmate of Kishor, will be the new Patna divisional commissioner and ex officio chairman of the smart city body.

Kishor had been assigned several key posts and it was felt in the corridors of power that he should be given the task of overhauling the school exam board which has been dogged by controversies for the past three years.#As part of Tuesday's shuffle, principal secretary, forest and environment, Tripurari Sharan, an officer of the 1985 batch, has been given additional charge of water resources. He takes over from Arun Kumar Singh, who will be the new development commissioner in place of Shashi Shekhar Sharma, who superannuates at the end of the month.

Principal secretary, education, R.K. Mahajan has been given additional charge of parliamentary affairs. His health counterpart Sanjay Kumar will also look after the cabinet secretariat department.

Mithilesh Mishra, a 2011 batch officer posted as inspector-general, prisons, has been given additional charge of director-general, prosecution.
