Patna, Nov. 9: The bridal collection exhibition organised by Boutique of India at Imperial Garden in Chanakya can easily satisfy the finicky tastes of Natasha. For, Kalki Koechlin’s character in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara would find everything she needed for her dream wedding at this fair.

Thirty-seven stalls are offering a plethora of essentials — from designer bridal wear and chic shoes to ethnic jewellery and home décor products — that are needed for that perfect wedding and to set up your dream home.

One of the visitors at the exhibition today, Sufia Taranum, said: “The best part of shopping at this exhibition is that you don’t need to go anywhere else. You will get jewellery as well as footwear in neighbouring stalls. The variety on offer is amazing.”

Sufia, who is scheduled to get married later this month, added: “I was fortunate enough to come here. The designer clothes on offer were the best surprise for me. In Patna, we do not have too many options. This exhibition, however, has solved that problem.” The bride-to-be picked up a green and red lehenga for her big day. “The Jaipuri design and the bright hues will make my day more colourful,” she said.

Siddhi, the proprietor of Jaipur-based Subha and Siddhi who has set up a stall at the exhibition, said: “People love bright colours for their wedding. Rajasthan is known for its bright hues. Customers will find a wide range of clothes here.”

If you want Rajasthani jewellery to go with your lehenga, you could just drop in at Thewa. Handcrafted stonework jewellery available at this stall is a big hit among the visitors. It is not the only jewellery stall though. Around five more are offering a variety of bangles, necklaces and rings to add sparkle to any wedding.

To make the ceremony truly pan-Indian, you could also pick slippers from Mumbai that are on sale at a stall nearby.

That’s not all. If you are spending sleepless nights about how to deck up your new home, just drop in at Kadam. The home décor shop is offering a variety of items prepared by rural artisans from Bengal and Orissa.

“These things are really unique. They will give a completely different look to my home,” said Suman Jha, a visitor to the stall.

Jha added: “I will take home all the exclusive things that catch my eye. I don’t care if it burns a hole in my pocket.”

That is exactly the attitude to encourage the organisers to return to the state capital.

“As the wedding season is on, and everyone wants something exclusive for their special day, we decided to organise this exhibition,” said Sanjay Agarwal, the organiser.

He added: “Designers and stall owners from different places like Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Surat have come to take part in this exhibition. You will get the most exclusive pieces here, that you won’t anywhere else.”

Asked about the response to the exhibition, Jha said: “This is the second time we have organised this. We had come earlier in August. The response was very encouraging. People in Patna have great taste and are smart buyers.”

The organisers promised to add to the music of shehnai or wedding bells when they would return in August next year.
