Banka, Jan. 9 (PTI): One person was killed and 18 others sustained injuries when a truck collided with a jeep at Badshahganj here today.

The accident occurred because of poor visibility caused by the thick fog, police said.

The injured have been admitted to hospitals at Amarpur and Bhagalpur. The condition of five of the injured was stated to be serious.

An eyewitness blamed the dense fog for the accident. He said both the vehicles involved in the accident were running at medium speed. Neither of the drivers could spot the other vehicle, he added.

Banka was under a thick blanket of fog right from the morning. Today being Sunday, hardly anybody ventured out.
