Patna: Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, on Wednesday took a jibe at chief minister Nitish Kumar and deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, saying both were competing with each other to become the main opponent of the RJD.

Tejashwi said both the leaders have lost their morale on ideological ground so they are now hitting below the belt.

"There is an undeclared war between Nitish ji and Sushil Modi on who can stoop to the level of poor standard of politics to defame the name of Laluji and his family. Both are competing with each other to become the main opponent of the RJD. Now, Nitish ji wants to replace Sushil Modi in the hit-below-the-belt politics because the chief minister cannot defeat us ideologically," Tejashwi told The Telegraph over phone from Delhi.

On Tuesday, Tejashwi took digs at Nitish calling him chacha (uncle). The young RJD leader taunted Nitish for not wishing him on Children's Day despite dismissing him as a "child" a day earlier during his Lok Samvad. Tejashwi went on to ask Nitish to disclose a quality of his son Nishant Kumar, which he has inherited from the chief minister.

"I feel proud that I have the qualities of my father and one can see the shadow of him in me. I want to ask one thing to Nitish ji. Keep your hand on your heart and ask is there any quality in your son that he has inherited from you? I don't want to indulge in negative politics like you because you know the truth very well. Raaz ko raaz hi rahne do (Let the secret remain a secret)," Tejashwi said.

Slamming Nitish for switching over to the BJP, Tejashwi said the chief minister has no morality left in him because not a single party is left in Bihar with whom Nitish has not formed the government.

"There's no party in Bihar with whom Nitish has not formed the government. He couldn't form the government on his own for once. I am sure he can never form a government on his own because he lacks ideology. The RJD's ideology is like the feet of Angad: nobody can move it an inch," Tejashwi said.

He added that Nitish's purpose of holding weekly Lok Samvads is to attack Lalu and his family.

"Nitish ji pretends as if he doesn't care about the Lalu family but he trains his gun on the RJD chief and his family always," he said.

"Lok Samvad is the place where Nitish ji attacks me and my family. When he was in the Grand Alliance he did not even protest about the Opposition's ideology forget personal attacks. But ever since he has sided with the BJP he makes personal comments against the Opposition leader," Tejashwi said, adding that the people of Bihar have understood the chacha.
