Patna, Nov. 26: One person was killed and valuables worth over Rs 6 lakh looted by armed criminals from four houses at Dhoshila village under Rafiganj police station in Aurangabad district late on Friday night. he deceased has been identified as Arjun Rajak who was killed by the criminals when he resisted their loot attempt.

Festival

Darbhanga: Mithila Lok Utsav has been organised for the first time on Saturday and Sunday by the district administration.

Capsize

Sitamarhi: Two students of a Runnisaidpur-based middle school — Raju Kumar and Santosh Kumar — were feared drowned when a country-boat carrying over 12 people capsized in river Bagmati near Rakshia ghat on Saturday.

Arms seized

Bettiah: Two semi automatic pistols, three magazines and four live cartridges of 9mm pistols were seized and an alleged arms dealer was arrested during vehicle checking on Saturday. Bettiah superintendent of police Nishant Kumar Tiwary said the arrested arms supplier identified as Raju Mishra, a resident of Sirisia, was produced before the court, which remanded him in 14-day judicial custody.

Ransom

Patna: The family of Saurav Kumar (16), grandson of a state secretariat employee, received a ransom call from his abductors on Saturday, six days after he went missing from Gardanibagh police station area.

Olympiad

Patna: Around 6,000 children took part on the first day of the three-day Bal Olympiad organised by Kilkari Bihar Bal Bhavan at Moin-ul-Haq stadium on Saturday. The event was inaugurated by human resource development minister P.K. Shahi.
