Power drive on cards

Patna: Bihar State Electricity Board would launch combing operations in Patna, Muzaffarpur, Gaya and Purnea, where it would carry out pole-to-pole verification of electricity connections, board spokesman H.R. Pandey said. uring the operation, the team would verify meters, load and theft of consumers. He said the board has appealed to the consumers to get their load verified and also rectify their non-functional meters to prevent severe action against defaulters.

Tatkal ticket

Patna: The Railway Board has changed the Tatkal reservation service. The rule mandates two identity proofs to be attached to the Tatkal ticket if two or more passengers are travelling, said East Central Railway chief public relations officer Neeraj Ambashta.

Growth meet

Patna: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi and education minister P.K. Shahi took part in the International Growth Centre (IGC) conference on its second day. The event was organised by IGC and Asian Development Research Institute. Speaking on the occasion, Shahi spoke about the plan of the government for the next 5 to 10 years.

Train timings

Patna: Jansadharan Express (12387), which was scheduled to depart at 4.20pm, was rescheduled to 8pm and Mahabodhi Express (12397), scheduled to depart at 2.30pm, was rescheduled to 3.30pm. Magadh Express (12401) was rescheduled from 2.10pm to 9pm. Jaynagar, Amritsar and Shaheed Express stood cancelled because of late running on the second consecutive day.

Energy event

Patna: Energy minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav will inaugurate a two-day meeting of senior officials of Eastern Region Power Committee comprising Bihar, Orissa, Bengal, Jharkhand and Sikkim as its members on December 16 at Bodhgaya.

Bull menace

Patna: A division bench of the high court on Thursday asked the central government to file its reply within four weeks on the steps it intends to take to check the damage done to the standing crops by neelgais (blue bull) in Bhojpur, Buxar and Rohtas districts.
