Lawyers cry hike bias

Patna: The decision of the state’s law department to raise the additional standing counsel’s fee for contesting a state government’s case in the Supreme Court has irked lawyers in the high court. he lawyers, including the additional advocate-general, have been demanding a hike for contesting the cases on behalf of the state government in the high court.

Police station

Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday inaugurated the first women’s police station of the state at Bihar Sharif. Sub-inspector Anju Tiwary has been made the station house officer of the police station.

Patna: Police on Monday morning found the body of an infant from a heap of garbage near the high court. Some residents of the area had spotted the body and informed the police.

Patna: Karnataka law and urban development minister S. Suresh Kumar on Monday met chief minister Nitish Kumar at the latter’s official residence and praised him for the implementation of Right to Public Service Act in Bihar.
