Patna: City superintendent of police (west) Upendra Sharma entered the Sanjay Gandhi Biological Garden (Patna zoo) in his official vehicle on Sunday. The zoo is a prohibited area for vehicles. harma visited the zoo as part of an inspection. He entered through gate number 2, reserved for VIP entry.

Body on train

Patna: The body of a man was found in a compartment of Punjab Mail on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Mahraj Angad Saran, a resident of Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh. The body has been sent for post-mortem.

Flight trouble

Patna: Poor visibility prevented flights from landing at Patna airport on Sunday. Hundreds of passengers got stuck at the airport because of the non-operation of flights, sources said.

Robbery

Sitamarhi: Armed criminals looted cash and valuables worth over Rs 2 lakh from the house of Dhanishankar Prasad at Banauli village under Sursand police station on Saturday night.

Accident

Hajipur: Two persons were killed and another seriously injured when a speeding truck hit a motorcycle under Hajipur Industrial police station area on Sunday.

Showcause

Sasaram: Social welfare minister Praveen Amanullah has issued a showcause notice to three assistants at anganwadi centres in Mathurapur and Dalmianagar of Rohtas district. The children enrolled to these centres were not present during an inspection conducted by the minister on Saturday.

Dig at BJP

Patna: RJD leaders criticised BJP national spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad for calling their party chief, Lalu Prasad, a “villain”. Ram Kripal Yadav and Rajniti Prasad voiced their protest at a news meet on Sunday.

Patna: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Sunday said the drive against corruption launched by the government would continue with the same vigour in the new year.
