3 held for fake deals

Patna: Three persons, including two Nepalese citizens, were arrested from Subhash Chowk under Forbesganj police station on Sunday for alleged illegal financial transactions. raria police found Rs 6.30 lakh and 62 ATM cards of nine banks on them. The arrested persons have been identified as Anil Kumar Choudhary, Deep Narain Choudhary, both residents of Nepal and Suresh Choudhary, a native of Jogbani in Araria.

Arrest

Sasaram: Seven criminals, including their leader Kanhaiya Nut, were arrested in the Karakat police station area of Rohtas district on Sunday. Superintendent of police (Rohtas) Manu Maharaj said they were involved in over a dozen murder cases.

Showcause

Patna: Sheikhpura district magistrate Virendra Prasad Yadav has issued a showcause notice to sub-divisional officer Manzoor Ali and sub-divisional police officer Santosh Kumar for dereliction of duty.

Motihari: State Bank of India disbursed loans worth Rs 2.76 crore among beneficiaries as part of a two-day Vasant Reen Utsav that concluded on Sunday.

Threat FIR

Araria: Sikti circle officer Surendra Pandey lodged an FIR against Sikti BJP MLA Anandi Prasad Yadav on Sunday. Pandey alleged that he had received threat calls from Yadav’s mobile.

Patna: The weekly janata darbar of chief minister Nitish Kumar will not be held on Monday, as Mahashivratri is a state holiday.

Flight

Patna: Kingfisher Airlines has cancelled the operation of its Delhi bound flight — IT 3341 — from Patna airport till March 24. The flight operates daily on Delhi-Ranchi-Patna-Delhi route. It arrives at Patna airport at 4.25 pm and departs at 4.45 pm.

Free books

Patna: Free books were distributed at Lakshmi High School, Madhubani, during a function organised by Kumudini Educational Cum Charitable Trust on Sunday.
