Counsel strike threat

Patna: The assistant counsels, who help the government lawyers in the high court, on Thursday threatened to go on strike if their fee structure was not revised within two weeks. he counsels have submitted a memorandum through the advocate-general’s office demanding Rs 1,800 per day for appearance and Rs 600 for filing each affidavit.

Mazaar

Patna: Hearing a petition of Gautam Kumar Yadav challenging the validity of the management committee of the mazaar situated near the high court, a high court bench comprising Justice T. Meena Kumari and Justice Gopal Prasad directed him to approach the Waqf board. Meanwhile, Justice Shiva Kirti Singh and Justice Shivaji Pandey stayed the order of a single bench directing the authorities concerned to remove illegal encroachments from the mazaar near high court.

Patna: Additional district and sessions judge B.N. Singh on Thursday granted bail to Trisul Nath Verma in connection with a case of dowry and female foeticide.
